People who experience anxiety are urged to seek professional help.
Anxiety is triggered in different ways, explains Clinical Psychologist Thabang Tlaka.
Tlaka works with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, relational difficulties, trauma, and other disciplines.
He explains that while there are acceptable levels of anxiety, some people are more sensitive than others.
According to Tlaka, people with anxiety tend to over react to situations, and are pre-occupied with fear.
Tlaka identifies several signs that may indicate excessive anxiety that requires treatment.
- finds that they are easily startled
- becomes hyper-vigilant
- experiences difficulties sleeping
- is easily irritable
- can't shake nervousness
- experiences extreme sweating

Tlaka reiterated the importance of his profession in helping people recover and heal from strenuous situations.
