702 Small Business Awards

Disabled? This recruitment agency is especially for you!

Very little is said about the struggles of disabled people with regards to society's perception of them as well as work and employment.

Boitumelo Mlabo, who is disabled, says many companies do not want to be inconvenienced by employing disabled people. However, the manager of Beyond Ability Talent Solutions is devoted to chaging this.

Boitumelo says she’d been struggling to get a graduate programme until she applied through recruitment agency Beyond Ability Talent Solutions.

Based on the fantastic service she received, Boitumelo nominated Beyond Ability Talent Solution for this year's Sage One and 702 Small Business Awards.

Beyond Ability Talent Solutions specialises in the recruitment and placement of persons with disabilities into formal employment.

They have established national strategic partnerships with key organisations dealing with disabled people and designated employers in all South African provinces.

702's John Robbie spoke to Ntsoaki Phali. She who founded Beyond Ability Talent Solutions in 2009 after seeing a gap in the market between people with disabilities and prospective employers.

She says that there were numerous challenges to operating this business, especially as there was a need for her to first educate prospective employers on hiring of people with disabilities.

We don't only just find jobs for people with disabilities. We also go into that workplace and do disability audits. We also work with teams and employers and teach them about how to relate to people with disabilities.
