The Compensation Fund has been alleged with failing injured workers and failing to pay doctors. A recent survey had shown that Gauteng doctors alone were owed more than R10 million by the fund.

The fund, which falls under the Department of Labour, provides compensation to workers injured or disabled on duty.

Dr Solly Lison, Chairperson of Qualicare - a network of 600 Accredited General Practitioners across the Western Cape says their members have been complaining about the fund.
