#CliveNaidoo: JMPD responds to video on 'arrogant' officer

Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) Wayne Minnaar spoke about a video of a JMPD officer in an altercation with a motorist who crossed a red light that went viral.

The motorist known as Clive Naidoo came under fire from social media users after trying to expose an ‘arrogant’ JMPD officer.

Minnaar says when an officer stops you don't argue with them.

Legally there's nothing stopping motorists from taking videos but I wouldn't encourage it, let officers do their jobs.

Naidoo says he was falsely accused of driving through a red robot when he was pulled over by the traffic officer on Jan Smuts Drive on Friday.

In an attempt to expose the cop of some or other wrong doing, he recorded the incident.

In the video, he is heard defending himself and says “I pay your salary”.

The apparently composed officer strikes a few poses instead.
