RTMC CEO addresses road deaths

This past weekend 141 people were killed in 110 road accidents, this was rated amongst the worst statistics recorded for one weekend.

The accidents occurred in the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal & Swaziland between Friday and Sunday.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation CEO Makhosini Msibi said he was shocked by the high number of deaths.

Msibi said the RTMC is looking at pushing for harsher punishment for road offenders.

We are going to implement 24/7 road monitoring by traffic officials.
