The ANC Youth League national congress is currently underway in Pretoria. This comes after a dismissed court application by a disgruntled North West group's urgent application to stop it from going ahead.
Following some criticism that the ANCYL leadership is too old, 702's Ray White (in for Stephen Grootes) spoke to political analyst Sipho Seepe.
Seepe reflected on the support that former ANCYL president Julius Malema enjoyed, saying that it was because he spoke the language of a frustrated youth at the time. He said the new leader of the youth league needs to have a similar radical style of leadership. Seepe cautioned, however, that that leader needs to be careful not to offend the mother body (ANC).
