Government has announced a plan to treat acid mine drainage to make it drinkable for the public. Water scientists have criticized this plan, saying that it is not economically and environmentally sustainable.
This morning the Department of Water are holding meetings to discuss the issues.
Independent Water Consultant, Professor Anthony Turton has called for an alternative plan, he spoke to John this morning about about the plan. He says that although the implementation of this plan has been slower than it should be, he feels 'cautiously optimistic' about it.
