Today's Big Stories, Joburg Ecomobility Festival: All you need to know

How to navigate Sandton during Eco Mobility month

The idea behind Eco Mobility month, being able to experience a car-free Sandton, is noble. However, there has been some backlash with people claiming that cars will not be allowed into Sandton during Eco Mobility month, from 1 to 31 October 2015.

To clarify this issue, John spoke to City Improvement District Manager for Sandton Central Management District (SCMD), Elaine Jack.

According to Jack, people travelling into Sandton will still be able to use a car, if desired. She added that it is a matter of choice and that no one is forced to use public transport.

If people take alternative modes of transport, there should be less cars coming into Sandton.
