5 reasons why South Africa could be heading for a recession

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Mike Schussler, Chief Economist at Economists.co.za.

Schussler says South Africa could be heading for a recession.

He gives the following five reasons:

  • Commodity prices

  • Business confidence

  • Productive sectors are struggling

  • We’re shooting ourselves in the foot (e.g. load shedding, tourism visa issues, etc.)

  • The rand, inflation and interest rates
