Here's another piece of good news, for everyone who wants to tear their ears off when they get a dreaded call from someone trying to sell them insurance.
It was reported today that telemarketers could actually be thrown in jail under the new Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This act was partially enacted in November 2013.

Mushunyama emphasised that it is an offense to contact people if they haven’t given permission to do so. He confirms too that this is not just a South African law.
