A massive earthquake in Chile has killed at least five people and seen one million people being evacuated. Warnings are being issued that tsunamis could strike cities that are on the edge of the Pacific.
The 8.3 magnitude quake struck overnight, leading to places like Hawaii, Russia, Japan and New Zealand warning their citizens to be aware of a possible tsunami.
Stephen Grootes spoke to seismologist, Dr Andre Kijko, about what could cause a tsunami.
