NYDA on the road to clean governance

The NYDA, once seen as a cash cow for young politicians linked to the governing alliance, has obtained its first clean audit. Redi Tlhabi spoke to the organisation's CEO, Khathu Ramukumba, to find out how the NYDA turned the corner.

Ramukumba said the turn-around strategy was centred on appealing to the "inner person" of each staff member as to what it means to be a good public servant, which is about committing to do the right thing. He added that they took a position of zero tolerance to non-compliance and poor perfomance.
