Ekurhuleni mayor Mondli Gungubele says the situation in Etwatwa is calm as people are engaging in talks and there is no violence at the moment.
Upon his visit today, Gungubele says he left the area in a clam state and if there is any violence he has no knowledge thereof.
However, the mayor admits the situation has spiraled out of control.
“It appears that these youngsters wanted to deal with nyaope but it grew into something bigger and became violent.”
A fourth teenager has survived nceklacing by the community and is said to be recovering in hospital.
The teenager is thought to be between the age of 15 and 18.
The teenagers were burnt alive during a mob justice attack this week.
