Madonsela's findings are not binding, argues SABC in Motsoeneng case

The Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein is today hearing the case brought by SABC Chief Operating Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng against Public Protector Thuli Madonsela and the DA over whether he should be suspended from his post.

The SABC's lawyers argued that Madonsela's findings are not binding if there's a rational reason not to implement the remedial action. Stephen Grootes spoke to EWN's Gia Nicolaides about the case that can have implications for other findings made by the Public Protector.
