SA Breast Milk Bank revolutionizes parenting

Breast milk banks are growing rapidly in South Africa, combating a climate where breastfeeding rates are low, formula is fashionable and a premature baby dies every 20 minutes. The government is introducing the banks at public hospitals.

702 and Cape Talk's Africa Melane and Sam Cowen spoke to Stasha Jordan who is the founder of the South African Breast milk Reserve who explained that HIV exposed babies are the most vulnerable and in need of the breast milk provided by the bank.

It improves the quality of life of the baby to be given breast milk.
