According to Dr Shingai Mutambirwa - Urologist at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, testosterone is the most important sexual hormone. For men, testosterone is necessary for erection, necessary for the moods and the need to have sex.
Starting from the age of 30 men could get male menopause, which lowers their testosterone and might cause them to start taking hormone replacement therapy drugs.
Hormone replacement therapy helps regulate hormone levels in the body and provide relief from a number of symptoms like fatigue, low sex drive and weight gain.
Taking supplement suppresses your own natural testosterone and fertility. It can cause other problems especially if it is taken in higher dosages.— Dr Shingai Mutambirwa, Urologist
Dr Mutambirwa says that only men suffering from low testosterone should take hormone replacement therapy drugs and they should not be taken for social reasons.

He says that a study in America has revealed that there’s increased risk of developing cardiovascular conditions for older men who are taking testosterone supplements.
However there is another data which shows that there’s a lower risk of death in men who were receiving testosterone than in those who were not.

He says supplements that are taken orally could be risky than those taken through injections, patches or cream.
