Wits students urge Cosatu to mobilise workers for free education national march

Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) has welcomed the call from students to mobilise the working class to join students in the national march for free education,

Students say they are the children of the workers and they want Cosatu to join students to march to the Chamber of Mines and some of the government departments, according to EWN reporter Clement Manyathela.

The date for the national march is 14 October.

Cosatu has confirmed that it agrees with the stance for free education.

This so called anger must be redirected from government to the private sector and the rich.

Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter

Let's stop talking bad about government. The Higher Education Minister has done all that he could, he has helped poor students that can't afford fees. They are appreciating that, and saying let's take this to the employers.
