It is often easy for communities to become victims of their circumstances, but groups of dedicated South Africans across the country can always be found paving the way for active citizenship.

Presenters Africa Melane and Sam Cowen speak with two community policing forums that have rolled up their sleeves and cleaned up their respective areas.

The Parkmore Community Association and the Diepsloot-based Memeza Community Policing Alarm share their respective efforts at reducing crime.
