5 reasons we're excited about the Sanlam Handmade Contemporary 2015!

The dazzling "Delish Sisters"

The Delish Sisters hail from Durban and they've taken the food artisan industry by storm!

The sisters describe themselves as "an upbeat red lipstick and sneaker-wearing sister duo out to change the way that people think about food!" This is their second year hosting a stall at the Sanlam Handmade Contemporary and the 702 Digital Team couldn't get enough of those delicious chocolate brownies!

"Suki Suki Naturals"

The brains behind _Suki Suki Naturals _have tapped into the growing natural hair trend and it sounds like they've hit the mark on the head (excuse the pun!)

Suki Suki Naturals' philosophy is to teach women how to look after their hair, and provide women with natural hair products to do that. The stall is located in the heart of the Sanlam Handmade Contemporary on Hyde Park Corner rooftop and well, if we could help it we would have walked away with everything on the shelves - but budgets are tricky things.

Find out more about the brand here.

All about the Food Court!

What reviews could anyone ever find about the glorious Sanlam Handmade Contemporary Fair's Food Court? The food artisans, the wine makers, the gin distiller and a whole range of other stalls that specialize in feeding not just our eyes but satisfying our appetites as well.

The food court's appeal is mostly the food, the wine - and the buzz of hip looking people milling about enjoying the vibe. The fact that you're bound to spot a famous face or two in the crowd doesn't hurt either.

Zana (A super sweet online store)

Zana is an online store that makes adorable bags and laptop sleeves that stand out from the rest because the designers have a love affair with colour, pattern and typography that's obvious in their work!

The team flew all the way up from Cape Town, where they have a studio in the funky Woodstock area. Their stall is so colourful and the set up so fresh that there was a constant flow of people walking in to ask questions - which meant we could barely squeeze in a word (but we managed to buy ourselves a few things)!

Design, Creativity, Design!

Of course one of the major features of the Sanlam Handmade Contemporary Fair is the design element of the fair, design lovers look forward to various designers and artisans putting their best foot forward every year - and this year was no different (maybe better even?).

We had a number of favourites, and drooled over almost every single store but one that stood out was perfume house's "House of Gozdawa", who take at least 5 months to create the perfect scent for their customers!

Catch Xolani Gwala and the Afternoon Drive team broadcasting LIVE from the Sanlam HmC this afternoon.
