SA icon Lillian Dube on surviving cancer, acting, turning 70 and giving back

Stage and screen star Lillian Dube recently turned 70 years old and is recovering from a single mastectomy procedure.

But the South African icon has not let her battle with cancer get her spirits down.

Merely weeks after her operation, the legendary actress reflected on her life's challenges and achievements with Cape Talk and 702 presenter Redi Tlhabi.

With her signature sense of humour that South Africans love, Dube spoke about her long standing acting career, cancer awareness and her latest social outreach initiative Celebrities for Good Causes Foundation.

I'm one of those people who was very blessed. I love entertaining and I love to be seen. Everywhere I go, I want to be recognised. I feel beautiful inside, I love life and love people.

A household name in South Africa, Dube has been entertaining viewers since the 1980s and has been honoured with numerous awards for her performances in television, films and theatre.
