Xolani Gwala shares his experience of tertiary education

Xolani Gwala came out in full support of the students protesting for more affordable fees.

Personally I fully and unconditionally support the students in this protest.

Gwala was referring to the #FeesMustFall campaign where students from various universities across the country have been protesting against high tuition fee.

My support is based on my experience. My education was funded by Tafsa (now Nsfas) and I always think back if Tafsa didn’t give me that funding...

He says he had no options and no relatives to help him through higher education.

We used the money from Tafsa for food, books and as a result my siblings were also given a chance.
