DNA evidence and bullet casings could close in on Senzo Meyiwa's murderer

Monday marked the one year anniversary of the death of former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa.

The star was shot and killed while visiting his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo at her mother’s house in Vosloorus in 2014.

Lieutenant-General Solomon Makgale, National Police Spokesperson said they have interrogated at least 30 people and taken over 100 statements in the case.

We still remain hopeful that we will be able to arrest the people who killed Senzo, at this stage it remains unclear who it is. We have strong idea how it happened and we have DNA evidence and firearm cartridge from the scene that links us to certain suspects.

Lieutenant-General Solomon Makgale, National Police Spokesperson
