Dr Schomer says that feeling emotionally cut out from those around us can have huge implications on our well-being. He says it affects the heart, the brain, the way people deal with stress and the way we process information.
If you have been trying to fit in, Dr Schomer says keep on trying about three times and if your initial plan is not working, try another group of friends. He says people need to be creative and innovative -‘redirect your efforts’.
