How hot and dry weather in Lesotho affects SA's water supply

A warning was reportedly issued by Rand Water that cities in Gauteng may have to soon start implementing water restrictions, due to a lack of water in Gauteng.

Stephen Grootes spoke to water specialist, Professor Anthony Turton about water supply issues. Professor Turton explained the fact that water in Gauteng comes from KZN’s Tugela River as well as Lesotho Highlands water project.

Meteorologist, Retsepile Neko also spoke to Stephen Grootes about the dry conditions that have affected the water supply in SA. Neko said that hot and dry conditions have been forecasted to continue in Lesotho over the coming months.
