EcoMobility makes a dent in public transport usage

Hate it or love it, EcoMobility month made an impact on everyone going in or out of Sandton.

The month-long EcoMobility World Festival, which kicked off beginning of October was aimed at showcasing a future transport system where public transport, walking and cycling become the modes of choice.

The festival comes to an end this weekend.

Twitter engagement on public transport increases

Planning Manager for Ecomobility and Operations Manager for Mobility and Freight at Joburg Roads Agency, Sipho Nhlapo spoke to John Robbie to reflect on the Festival, lessons learnt and will this be a long term trend?

Car usage decreased during EcoMobility

There has reportedly been confirmation from Joburg Mayor, Councilor Parks Tau this morning, that the EcoMobility month in Sandton led to a decrease in the number of people using cars to commute to work. The festival saw some lanes closed to passenger cars, the use of park and rides and cycling lanes.
