The experience of studying in a township and graduating from the University of Cape Town (UCT) helped to shape Baratang Miya's vision of empowering women and girls in the digital space.
Describing herself as receiving the worst education in South Africa, before entering higher education, Miya saw the extent of the digital divide that exists between those with access and those without it.

Miya spoke to #NightTalk's Lovelyn Nwadeyi about her work to bridge the digital divide and to transform South African's access to new technology.
