Karan Beef bring an excusive dining experience to the 702 studios!
Chef Vic chose the secret ingredient of watermelon for our special dinner outside the 702 studios. Not only was he impressed with Kelley Venter's choice, he was also keen to try her suggestion of using the rind in addition to the tasty pink flesh!
So Vic settled on a starter of Smoked beef fillet carpachio with pickled watermelon rind, goats cheese and toasted candied pecans. That was followed by delicious Oyster blade of beef with celeriac puree topped with bone marrow crust and porcini reduction. As a fitting fruity dessert, Vic concocted a treat of textures of coconut with fresh pawpaw.
And, because the dinner experience was on a Friday, we managed to time it to coincide with the popular #702Unplugged feature on Xolani Gwala's Afternoon Drive - featuring Black Coffee, Nakhane Toure, Portia Monique and Khensy! Watch the performance here...
