High Court rules that CRL hearings be made public

The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Cultural Religious and Linguistic Communities (CRL) said that it is going ahead with its hearings into the commercialisation of religion.

This week, the Editor of The Sowetan newspaper was adamant that media should be allowed into the hearings, which are now open to media, following a high court ruling that media be allowed to attend the hearings.

Bishop Mosa Sono of the Grace Bible Church, who has been subpoenaed to testify, echoes The Sowetan's view that it is in the public's interest to know what happens at the CRL hearings.
