Destiny Magazine says 'no regrets' about Nompendulo Mkatshwa cover

Destiny Magazine has released it's December cover which has received a massive response from social media, the cover features Wits SRC President Nompendulo Mkatshwa, as the face of the student movement in 2015.

702's Gugs Mhlungu and Sizwe Dhlomo invited the magazine's Deputy Editor, Sheena Adams into the studio to explain why the magazine decided to invite Mkatshwa to feature as the cover girl for its latest issue.

Adams explained that "we decided to ride the wave of the momentum with all the social media exposure that she received".

Mkatshwa and Destiny Magazine's detractors on social media expressed concern because they feel that using the young woman's face on the cover of the magazine draws the attention away from the thousands of individuals involved in the movement.
