John received a surprise call from Malcolm Mycroft, General Manager Marketing Pick n Pay, who wished him a happy birthday. Mycroft also offered him a R10 000 birthday present that he could use for a charity of his choice.

John declared that he would like to assist a caller who said that her house got blown away by the storm last night.

More companies and individuals called in to give some donations and well wishes.
