702Unplugged has grown in popularity since it was first launched on Xolani Gwala's drive time show in September last year. The feature seeks to celebrate local music by inviting well-known South African artists to perform an unplugged set on radio.According to the show’s Executive Producer, Jonathan Fairbairn says that #702Unplugged was launched to ease listeners into the weekend and encourage people to unwind and relax.

We've found that listeners have responded really well to having some good music to ease you into the weekend, and it’s a bonus that we’re promoting local music!
