Tour de France 2013 winner Chris Froome has used the opportunity of his annual holiday to South Africa to marry fiance Michelle Cound.
Speaking to 702's Jenny Crwys-Williams from his local home in Parkhurst, Johannesburg, Froome gushed how glad the couple were to be able to get married in South Africa just over a week ago.
So much of what we do throughout the year has been centred around cycling - it's been really hard to try get a little time for ourselves so it was a really good thing for us to do at the end of the season... It's a great feeling to be a married man!— Chris Froome
According to Jenny - Chris is even quoted as saying that "love felt like hot chocolate on a cold day".
An chocolate seemed to be a bit of a common theme throughout the chat. Later, responding to 702 callers, Froome mentioned that he had only just started training again after the off-season. When in peak form he admitted to missing treats like Nutella and white chocolate most.
When asked by another caller for a comment about transformation in the sport of cycling, Froome indicated his disappointment at there not having been a black African participate in the Tour de France.
While the Froomes live in Monaco for much of the year, Chris reitterated that his visits to Southern Africa are still special to him...

True to the sport stereotype, Chris is a very goal oriented. Already he is firm that this calendar for 2015 is geared towards the Tour de France - the pinnacle of the cycling calendar.
It's going to be quite a challenge next year - there's lots of emphasis on the climbing which suits me but something I am going to have to change my training and work extra hard on.— Chris Froome
