Casac calls on President Zuma to sign Fica Bill

The Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (Casac) is calling on President Jacob Zuma to urgently sign into law the Financial Intelligence Centre Amendment (Fica) Bill.

Casac executive secretary, Lawson Naidoo, says the president needs to exercise his constitutional obligation and sign the bill into law.

Naidoo says if he has any reservations or concerns, he should return it to Parliament.

Casac says the president has 30 days to respond to their request.

In terms of the Constitution he must either sign the bill into law, or if he has reservations must send it back to Parliament explaining his reservations.
