SARB keeps interest rates steady

The South African Reserve Bank’s new governor, Lesetja Kganyago, announced on Thursday the Monetary Policy Committee’s decision to keep the repo rate steady at 5.75 percent.

The SARB hiked the repo rate by 50 basis points in January and by 25 basis points in July.
