Ugandan Police (apparently) respond to violent "nanny" video

A video that has been circulated on the internet showing footage of a nanny assaulting a toddler has been removed from YouTube. Earlier today the screenshot of the video looked like this...

By 2pm the video screenshot looked like this - the message saying the content violates the YouTube Terms of Service.

702 reported earlier today how the video was allegedly uploaded by a distressed parent following their review of their "nanny cam" footage...

The startling discovery was made after the child’s father checked security cameras upon discovering bruises on her body. While local viewers speculated the woman in the video was a foreigner taking care of a South African child it has since emerged that the incident took place in Kampala, Uganda.

Now a video that has come to light claiming that the perpetrator has been taken into custody.

According to the video, a 22 year old Tumuhirwe Jolly is in Luzira Prison where she has been remanded and will appear in court again on December 8, 2014.

The video below contains a statement from (unverified) Police official Patrick Onyango, via Ugandan TV's youtube channel...

Coincidentally, South Africans this week commemorate the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism campaign, one that would hopefully put an end to behaviours such as the one seen in this video.
