Lady Liberty offers women legal services that don't cost the earth

Samantha Ngcolomba founded Lady Liberty which aims to make affordable legal services available to South African women.

The former University of Cape Town graduate realised that access to justice and information remained limited among the majority of black women due to socio-economic factors.

Our core foundation is access to justice because access to the law is just the first step to attaining justice, which I think is a basic human right.

Ngcolomba is currently developing a mobile app that offers legal advice in native languages for smartphone and feature phone users.

It's a mobile legal office because we don't want to limit our accessibility as well. Gauteng has been our pilot area... Our goal is to educate women on their rights.

I was so focused on the lower the LSM levels that I forgot that women in corporate who dress smart, look the part with great salaries also have the same challenges and that doesn't mean they can afford the mainstream services.
