Boardroom drama at SAA, SABC sparks debate

The SABC board has suspended CEO Frans Matlala while Musa Zwane has taken the reigns as acting CEO at SAA.

Meanwhile, SAA board chairperson Dudu Myeni reportedly linked the problems she is facing at the national carrier to her being a woman.

Redi Tlhabi on Wednesday asked listeners to share their views on the state of South African parastatals.

Listen to the calls below:

Is it not better to let SAA go bankrupt, close them down... and let market forces and private companies take over and provide us with a decent service?

Roy, listener

I think it's becoming easy to say what Dudu Myeni is saying without any intervention... I think what (Dudu) Myeni is doing is unfortunate.

Simphiwe, listener

I think it's time that this government wakes up and realises that this country should be run like a business; we don't have a tap that you open and money comes out. SABC, SAA, shut it down and let people with business brains run it...
