Unions' backing of Ramaphosa is ironic - Ranjeni Munusamy

Some unions within Cosatu are apparently endorsing Cyril Ramaphosa to lead the ANC despite discouragement of the succession debate by the federation's president, Sdumo Dlamini.

EWN reporter Govan Whittles told Stephen Grootes that Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma was not mentioned at all at Cosatu's national congress in Midrand.

Meanwhile, Daily Maverick's associate editor, Ranjeni Munusamy, told Grootes that she found the unions' apparent backing of Ramaphosa ironic given that he had built his wealth on the back of BEE and capitalist structures.
