President Jacob Zuma gave his annual address to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), while striking workers gathered outside the Parliamentary precinct.
EWN reporter Rahima Essop said Zuma responded to the reports by Auditor General Kimi Makwetu, revealing R25.7 billion in irregular spending in the past financial year.
According to Essop, Zuma advised that remedial action must be better implemented against poorly managed government funds.
