The Western Cape High Court has ruled Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s appointment as SABC's Chief Operating Officer was ‘unlawful and irrational’.
The DA's national spokesperson, Phumzile van Damme, said the party was pleased with the ruling, which essentially means Motsoeneng’s appointment cannot stand.
As it stands, he has been suspended and he faces a disciplinary hearing from 1 December 2015. The latest judgment now says he should be removed from his position. His removal would hopefully bring stability to the broadcaster.— Phumzile van Damme, DA national spokesperson
