Li-fi: A hundred times faster than wi-fi

There have been new findings things week that suggest that the wireless broadband technology, li-fi (short for light fidelity) could be a hundred times faster than wi-fi. It can also reportedly provide internet speeds of 240 gigabits a second.

Stuff Magazine Editor, Toby Shapshak spoke to Stephen Grootes about the speed li-fi and prospects of South Africa getting this kind of internet connection.

It's a really fantastic, amazing technology but to develop it would take another 5 - 10 years, if it becomes broadly adopted by the technology industry as a whole.
