    • Lyric Mix is a song writing app that inputs vocal sound data and outputs mixed sound data. You simply sing your original song into your cell phone’s microphone embedded in the app, the app then reproduces the alternative sound mixes based on genre chosen. Ultimate result is basic, but complete songs with melodies, from which to choose. The app allows you to upgrade to Pro song version, but you will pay a premium subscription which enables you to unlock professional services, links and networking opportunities.

    • It is a creative and unique idea that we really haven’t come across. It leverages technology for efficiency in an industry like music.

    • This business aims to build DIY workshops in the townships where people who have less money to spend and more time on their hands can access tools, materials and tutorial videos to create their own furniture and décor.

    • We chose this idea because we feel it speaks to finding township-based solutions and empowering other township entrepreneurs.

    • Flight Mode Productions aims to offer air-to-ground videography, area-mapping and analytics services. We intend to fly complex camera and capture moments from the sky, to provide insights from a different perspective.
  • This business was chosen because:
    • The idea is innovative, and it utilises emerging technology platforms such as drones and analytics to create a business that solves problems.

  • This campaign runs on 702 from 3 September to 27 September 2018.
  • To participate, listeners with potential business ideas related to the technology, telecommunications, IT industry must fill in an entry form online including a business plan in order to be selected to as one of the Pitch The Future finalists. During the week commencing 17 September 702 will profile 10 selected entrepreneurs and profile them on the Breakfast Show with Bongani Bingwa and The Afternoon Drive show with Joanne Joseph.
  • The finalists will be selected by entrepreneurship expert, Matsi Modise.
  • At an event on Thursday 27 September, the 10 finalists will have one last chance to ‘pitch’ their ideas to a panel of judges. Once all finalists have had an opportunity to pitch, the judges will deliberate and a winner will be chosen. The on air winner announcement will take place during the Afternoon Drive show.
  • The grand prize package consists of the following:
    • The prize is valued at R250 000 from Telkom.
    • This prize includes seed capital to the value of R200, 000
    • Business start-up package which includes a DSL/LTE connectivity for 24 months
    • Business-in-a-box solution, a prize including a Lenova Core i5 Laptop, printer, scanner and copier, MS office 365 software, and accessories.
  • The prize is not negotiable, not transferrable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • 702 and Telkom will not be held liable for entries not received for any reason whatsoever, and will not be responsible for network connectivity or hardware issues experienced while participating.
  • A participant will not be able to win this competition if they have won a prize on 702 within the past 90 days, whether on-air, online or via any of the station’s social platforms.
  • If a winner chosen does not comply, their entry will be disqualified, and a new winner will be randomly drawn.
  • In the event that a winner cannot be successfully contacted, is ineligible to accept the prize, or contravenes the terms and conditions of this competition or of 702 and Telkom, the prize will be forfeit.
  • Primedia Broadcasting will notify the winner from where and when the prize can be collected.
  • 702 reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the competition will be notified to participants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  • Employees of Telkom, Primedia Broadcasting and their immediate family and friends, are not permitted to enter the competition.
  • By entering this competition, a participant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
