A contemporary take on vintage songs...

"You may have noticed the brand new cover design for our Best of Bandstand Volume Three and hopefully will be as pleased with it as we are. Whilst the cover has changed the music in this double CD compilation remains vintage Bandstand and happily I think we have included something for everyone. The signature tunes of the orchestras of Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman and Stan Kenton are featured as well as the Glenn Miller evergreen “Moonlight Serenade”. Signature songs for singers can be debated at length and as Johnny Mathis himself has claimed “Chances Are” is his most requested song, I guess we can label that as his signature piece. I was thrilled we were able to include one of our very own from South Africa, Danny Williams with his marvellous recording of “Moon River” and hope we may include even more local musicians in future editions of Best of Bandstand." - Eleanor Moore
