— Hedy Lamarr

Hedy Lamarr is most well-known for her roles in the 1940s movies “Algiers” and “Sampson and Delilah”, both of which were Oscar-nominated.
MGM studios dubbed her “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World”.
She is also famous for pioneering onscreen nudity in the 1933 movie “Ecstasy”.
Her greatest legacy, however, is her 1942 co-invention of frequency-hopping technology “spread spectrum communications”, the precursor to Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
She never received a cent from the multi-billion dollar industry her invention made possible.
