702 Truck of Love with Spar visits Ennerdale

The 702 of Truck of Love with Spar is still out spreading tons of festive cheer and this time around we made a stop at Hidden with Christ Family Restoration Africa located in Ennerdale, South of Johannesburg. We were greeted with warm smiles and big hugs from the community and we just couldn't wait to reveal all the goodies that were loaded in our special truck.

Hidden with Christ Family Restoration Africa is a non-profit organisation providing mentoring programs for young and middle-aged men in Ennerdale who have been exposed to substance abuse. Founded by husband and wife, Morvin & Claire Bester, the organisation is committed to building a community that will promote friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope, through effectively breaking the scourge of substance abuse in the area.

I'm now almost two years clean after struggling with substance abuse for 11 years. That's the reason why this is so close to my heart. I want to give back to my community

Morvin Bester, Founder of HWC Christ Family Restoration Africa

When we heard all about the work Morvin and Claire are doing in their community, we didn't think twice about calling our friends at Spar to help us bring joy to this incredible organisation. Our truck was loaded with a brand new stove and freezer, kitchen utensils, bedding, toiletries and groceries that will ensure that the family, and all the young men that they take care of in Ennerdale will have a cheerful Christmas!

This means so much, not only for the current applicants but those to come. It gives us more motivation to keep doing what we do.
