Random Acts of Kindness with Dis-Chem

Dis-Chem Foundation helping curb escalating drug problem in Ennerdale

Drugs are at the root of major social ills that are ripping families apart and crippling the Ennerdale community.

Children are unable to keep up with their schooling and getting involved in crime to support their habits.

702's Xolani Gwala visited the community and met retired Sandton SAPS station commander, Brigadier Billings, who works with projects and centres offering hope and counseling to youth to keep them off drugs.

A hospice called Ladies of Hope provides a facility for community members running awareness campaigns in schools and offers books, help with reading and homework, school uniforms for those who don’t have, and a basic gym for physical training.

During the Breakfast show, Dis-Chem Foundation's Penny Stein announced that the foundation will donate drug tests and toiletries to Ladies of Hope to help them continue with their work.

You have got a community with children and parents as drug addicts. It's devastating. We going to assist them.
