Random Acts of Kindness with Dis-Chem

702 and Dis-Chem Foundation provide relief to Forest Town School

702 and the Dis-Chem Foundation have helped ease the pressure on Forest Town School, a school for learners with special needs.

The foundation's Penny Stein donated R120 000 worth of hygiene goods to the school, were she and 702 presenter Redi Tlhabi paid a visit.

Stein says the children are well looked after by the school's team of devoted teachers.

The connection is there. These teachers are so committed. They know each child and have a deep sense of nurturing, care and compassion.

The Forest Town School offers holistic academic, therapeutic and medical/clinical needs for Children with complex disabilities.

The school has been a leader in the development of education and medical models since it launched in 1948.

The school has some excellent facilities and a team of brilliant staff to manage the progress of each child in all areas of his/her life, Tlhabi adds.

However, the costs of running such a specialized school, and meeting many daily needs in life, and in the classroom which a lot of us take for granted, are huge and ongoing.

Forest Town School Ingrid Middleton says the school relies heavily on corporate donors to meet their wide range of needs.

The Dis-Chem Foundation is a long time supporter of the school and the remarkable work that they do and will donate R10 000 per month for the next year to the school, Stein explains.
