Random Acts of Kindness with Dis-Chem

DisChem foundation donates R80 000 to Design26 Foundation

A community upliftment project in Cape Town has been given R80 000 as part of DisChem's 'Random Act of Kindness' initiative.

Established this year in March, The Design26 Foundation, in collaboration with Design26 (Pty), works with vulnerable young women from Mitchells Plain providing skills training, counselling and job opportunities.

We provide free sewing skills training to teenage mothers and young girls.

Suraya Williams, Founder of Design 26 Foundation

We also provide them with transport to the training centre.

Sherry Saltzman from the Dischem Foundation joined Williams in studio on Tuesday where she announced that the project would be receiving thousands as part of its Random Act of Kindness.

We have to get involved and help these young women and we have decided to help you with sewing equipment to the value of R80 000.

Sherry Saltzman, Dischem foundation

I hope that it will go a long way for you.
