THE BARRY RONGE SHOW 11 March 2013 8:00 PM
End this Athletics war!
Grass roots athletics administrator Lappies Swanepoel claims the infighting at Athletics South Africa has ALREADY forced our young runners OUT of the African Youth Championships, as no team has been named and the deadline has gone. Her question: “What will they say to those athletes who have worked so hard?” We also spoke to SASCOC’s grandly-title Chairman of Ethics and Dispute committee Mubarak Mohamed, who attended Saturday’s meeting which saw president James Evans “impeached”. He refused to say who paid for the meeting of flights to the meeting, insisting the impeachment was above board. AmaZulu’s Philani Mabaso explained the departure of assistant coach Fani Madida, saying he “did not see eye to eye” with new coach Craig Rosslee who has steered the club out of the relegation zone. We then spoke to Naomi Schiff, who has gone to Belgium to pursue her dream of becoming a professional motor racing driver.
