THE CLIMATE CHANGE LEADERSHIP AWARDS

The CCLA are the first awards in South Africa, and Africa, that recognize, reward, motivate and celebrate businesses, communities, youth, schools and individuals that are taking the lead through positive voluntary action by implementing a range of activities to combat global warming.

The CCLA contribute significantly to inspiring and promoting awareness and action towards a low carbon economy, and thus a healthier society and a more sustainable planet. Now you can be rewarded for your efforts in saving our planet.

The Climate Change Leadership Awards are supported by the South African Post Office, Pick n Pay, Talk Radio 702 and Cape Talk 567, three organisations that have already measured their carbon footprint and are seeking ways to reduce their impact on climate change.

Avis, a carbon neutral company, is the Official Car Rental Car Supplier providing transport and sponsor partnership support.

Food & Trees for Africa is a social enterprise that has been motivating climate change awareness and action since 1990.

FTFA introduced the first South African carbon calculator and the Carbon Protocol in 2006, and conceived the Climate Change Leadership Awards in 2009.

FTFA has planted over 4.1 million trees and facilitated thousands of organic food gardens with poor communites, and annually offsets the carbon emissions of the CCLA ensuring it is a carbon neutral initiative.
